Combining creative animation-focused projects with great technical know-how, E.D. FILMS specializes in 2D/3D animation for films, XR contents, games, and immersive experiences in museums, parks and various public attractions. E.D. FILMS’ talented and qualified team treats each project with creativity, expertise and attention to produce high quality works. The studio has been developing a solid base of clients to whom we offer animation production services while developing a suite of digital animation tools. E.D. FILMS also produces original animation-based creations that bring international recognition to the studio.
Through customized artist tools for animators and creators, E.D. FILMS has been sharing their know-hows and skills within the international art+tech community. Among many digital tools developed by the studio's Art+Tech team are “Scene Track: Game Media Exporter”, “PSD to 3D suite”, and “Z Fighter,” all of which are for any animators and artists to speed up their creative workflow with the least amount of limitation on their creativity.
The most recent accolades of E.D. FILMS include a Prix Numix Award 2022 for an immersive public exhibition “Indigenous Peoples Experience (2021)” at Fort Park Edmonton, Alberta, a MUSE Creative Award 2022 Silver from Experiential & Immersive Exhibition for the A/V installation “In Linear Res (2022)" at the Noor Riyadh Festival 2022, an official nomination at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival for the animated short film "Premonition: On the Eve of Signing Treaty (2021)" and a 2020 Canadian Screen Award for the best animated short film for the Inuit tale titled “Giant Bear (2018)”.
Coming up, E.D. FILMS’ first independent animated short film, “Retour à Hairy Hill (2023),” directed by Daniel Gies, will be soon presented to the world, along with “Three Trees (2023),” another animated short for children will meet with the younger audience this year.
E.D. FILMS is led by studio co-founders Emily Paige (lead producer), Archita Ghosh (executive producer), and Daniel Gies (head of art + technical director).
